JS Bach has written many beautiful melodies. This is one of them. However, as it was originally written for solo violin, due to the technical difficulties playing it, the melody is often not fully appreciated. Besides, due to the nature of the violin, the accompaniment may sound a little jerky when played on solo violin. This arrangement allows the pianist to fully express the beauty of the melody, together with the accompaniment. Also, as the difficulty level is low, a violinist may want to try playing it (on piano), to fully appreciate the genius of Bach in reducing the beautiful melody and accompaniment into a solo violin piece.
