Second in a set of 3 animal tales for orchestra. Play in the children's concert or any time. The plodding tortoise beats the silly hare in the race. I use one of my well-known octatonic scales and some 12-tone serial, but it's all for fun--don't be put off by that! First performance was by the York Guildhall Orchestra under Simon Wright at York St John University.
