The Deep Blue Sea uses a melody of intervals rather than of single notes. This late elementary piece has phrases that imitate ocean waves and deep inner ledger lines from the treble clef. There is a brief change of meter near the end. The Deep Blue Sea was originally published in the Frederick Harris collection titled Wildflowers which is now out of print.
