Duration 8 and a half minutes.
SATB choir composition on Konstantinos Kavafis' poem ITHACA, in English translation - a wonderful philosophical reflection on our life's journey.
Kavafis is a very well known and loved Greek poet with this particular poem as his most known and cherished.
It is the first of a collection of FIVE KAVAFIS POEMS by the same composer, a cycle written in both the original Greek language and in the English translation, and in three forms: a cappella, with piano acc. and with strings acc., all available through her. This composition has been often performed and very well received.
The attached mp3 file is exported from a sibelius file.
Please visit website www.zlatanou.net for more information on the composer, who is a member of TONO, the Norwegian copyright org.
NOTE: I am originally Greek living in Norway most of my adult life, where I have also tried to spread my culture to my new homeland, alongside my other classical work. This has resulted in several both choral and instrumental arrangements of existing Greek music, as well as compositions on Greek subjects, many available on SHEETMUSICPLUS.
When looking for something new or unknown please have a browse either on this site or at my website where both my compositions and arrangements are catalogued according to subject matter and intrumentation.
