Cello Suite No. 3, BWV 1009: 1. Prelude. The six Cello Suites, BWV 1007 to 1012, are suites for unaccompanied cello by Johann Sebastian Bach. They are some of the most frequently performed and recognizable solo compositions ever written for cello. Bach most likely composed them during the period 171723, when he served as a Kapellmeister in Köthen. The title of the Anna Magdalena Bach manuscript was Suites à Violoncello Solo senza Basso. Now in the 21st century, this piece comes alive once again. Arranged for 2 cellos, each cello is playing the same piece in 2 different keys simultaneously(C Major and G Major). Enjoy Part 1 of this series.
