The hymn WHEN I SURVERY THE WONDROUS CROSS began as Gregorian Chant and was eventually harmonized by Mason. This is one of the most beautiful hymns in the hymnbook but it only uses five notes for the melody. That is hard for me to believe. I hope you get to play this horn quartet.
