Pezel was a renowned German violinist, trumpeter, and composer who wrote extensively for musical instruments at the height of the Baroque period. He published a vast number of instrumental collections during the years 1669 through 1686. Highly influential in the evolution of instrumental music his works created many of the ground rules for orchestral writing. This work is one of his most popular. His collection of Fünff-Stimmigte Blasende Music (Blowing Music For 5 In Polyphonic Style) includes many Intradas. Presented here is the 13th. It is frequently played by ensembles looking for a bright happy baroque sounding fanfare. A great audience pleaser for almost any church or secular setting.
