I made this arrangement of JS Bach's beautiful sonata for solo flute BWV 1013 by transposing it down a tone into G minor where it works really well on solo violin. I have also added a minimal number of articulation markings, ornaments and some easy multiple stops (all of which are optional) but no fingering as that is left up to the performer. The sonata has four movements (Allemande, Corrente, Sarabande and Bourrée anglaise) and is ideal for concert repertoire performance and/or instructional use. It is fair to say that this sonata is technically easier to play than Bach's very well known six solo sonatas and partitas (this sonata is somewhere between intermediate and advanced intermediate standard) - but, despite that, the music is still first class!
