"La Source" is a cornerstone in the pedal harp literature. Written in 1898 by the Belgian-born French composer Alphonse Hasselmans, this etude has become a favorite of all harpists, thanks to its tender melody and its rich and luscious harmonies. Now you can also play it on a lever harp. This paraphrase preserves the two principal themes, the first in F major and the second in D minor. The sections with the wider modulations are rewritten using original fragments rearranged in a new order. The accompaniment is slightly simplified into arpeggiated triplets. Very few lever changes are required. Inside the book you will also find a reduced score (melody with chords symbols) printed on only two pages. This is a useful reminder tool for your study sessions and performances.
