Sir Edward William Elgar, (1857 1934), brought us several memorable works, two of which are arranged here for mid-level pianists. The most famous of the two, Nimrod, from the Enigma Variations, will require a great deal of expression by the performer as its slow tempo will require dynamic and tempo fluctuations so as to keep the listener engaged. The Chanson De Matin, song in the morning, is a bit brighter in tempo and will contrast nicely as a combined work with Nimrod, or it will stand by itself as a welcomed recital piece.
