Satie's iconic Gymnopédie No. 1 has been beautifully transcribed for 6 part Trombone Ensemble by Michael McGuire, director of Bones West. This work is about 4 minutes in length. The 1st part is for advanced performers, but the other 5 parts can be performed by intermediate players. Satie sets a very melancholy scene with his revolutionary chords. This is the only version of this work available for Trombone ensemble, a welcome addition to the repertoire.
