"Habanera" from Bizet's opera Carmen arranged for alto saxophone and piano. "Habanera" has become the popular name for "L'amour est un oiseau rebelle" ("Love is a rebellious bird"), one of the most famous opera arias and sung by Carmen in scene five of the first act. The aria is based on a descending chromatic scale in first the minor and then the major key and was adapted from the habanera "El Arreglito", originally composed by the Spanish musician Sebastián Yradier. The song has also been used in films, notably Pixar Up.
