For every student of jazz, this manual is meant for your daily study and practice routine. It explains the theory of modes in major and minor keys in an easy to understand way. It then provides jazz "licks" or jazz phrases in simple one bar creations. It also shows the method in which they have been created to assist the student to be able to create their own "licks." It is followed by two bar and four bar licks by combing the the previous ones learned. Finally, it gives the student real chord progressions that are used in jazz standards to apply their recently gained knowledge. If followed as presented over a period of time, the student will be improvising on their own with real jazz "licks" sounding like they've been doing this for years. It's a tried and true method used by professionals throughout the world. Follow the directions and you won't disappointed.
