This is an exciting show piece for the late intermediate student. Its challenges include playing in 7/8 at a very quick tempo, and several sudden hand position shifts thoughout the piece. Aside from the meter, phrasing, harmony and melodic content is "common practice," composition from the late 19th century. The piece is idiomatic and fun for both the player and the listener. Suggested phrasing is presented although pedalling is left to the imagination of the player.
