For Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.

Derek Hasted writes "Elton John's Basque is a really unusual piece - on the one hand it won a Grammy in 1991 for 'Best Instrumental', and on the other hand it has vanished from sight - it appears that there has only ever been one released version, featuring James Galway on flute. At the time of publishing this arrangement, there seems to be only a single piano version of the original piece for sale which comprises just a snippet of the original.

I have other arrangements of Basque - one for flute and guitar, one for oboe and guitar, THIS one (for 2 guitars), and a third version for 3 guitars / large ensemble that includes a countermelody based on the orchestral accompaniment to Galway's flute.

All the versions are particularly straightforward and accessible, and I hope will bring this gorgeous melody to the ears of even more people.
