"Flamingo" (1940) is a popular song and jazz standard written by Ted Grouya with lyrics by Edmund Anderson and first recorded by singer Herb Jeffries and the Duke Ellington Orchestra on December 28, 1940, for Victor Records (catalog No. 27326B) it briefly reached the Billboard charts in 1941. This is a contemporary arrangement John and I have created using a root-based chord-blocking technique we have used in a number of our arrangements. It's fun to play and can be played as a slow to medium ballad or with a Latin American flair. Enjpy!
