This edition of J. S. Bach's Suites for Unaccompanied Cello I-IV by Haim Avistur and Robert Cuckson is intended to serve as a performance edition and is based on recent scholarship. Trombonists may use these beautiful Baroque works to improve their musicianship and technique, as they are quite different from the usual Trombone solo fare. Because they were written for a stringed instrument, the technique is challenging, but the genius of Bach's music more than makes up for this challenge.
All four suites are in bass clef and they are of moderate difficulty and higher.
