SILENT NIGHT (Stille Nacht) for VIOLIN DUET. Silent Night is one of the most beloved and well known of all holidays carols. Written in 1818 by Franz Gruber and Joseph Moore for the Christmas Eve Service for just guitar accompaniment as the organ had been damaged by flooding. This 2-part arrangement unaccompanied is very simply set with a bit of a folk feeling or atleast influence. It contains cross voicing where sometimes the counter line is above the melody and the melody is shared by both voices. This arrangement contains 3 verses, the final verse modulates to a new key and is a delicate end to this beautiful arrangement.
