Strawberries and Cream (also known as Ginnie Pug) is a Playford English Country Dance tune from the 3rd edition of Playford's Dancing Master (1657). It is in 6/4 time and presented in the original key. I've arranged this tune as a trio for soprano, alto, and tenor recorders with optional guitar chords. The tenor recorder part can also be played on violin, which is how we've recorded the audio sample. The soprano recorder has the melody throughout. Strawberries and Cream would make a lovely wedding processional or Prelude music for a theme wedding. It makes delightful background music for a reception or a tea. Students will likewise enjoy Strawberries and Cream as a recital piece.
