"In my heart, I know that my redeemer lives" is a setting of the funeral sentence from the Anglican and Episcopal Prayer Books. The piece is suitable for funerals, but also for the Easter season, any occasions of memorial, or Sundays with readings about eternal life, resurrection, trust in God's goodness, or triumph over persecution. This motet is scored for a cappella voices, with men and boys choirs in mind, but, of course, usable with any treble choir, or SATTBB ensemble. The harmonies are lush, and for the most part, the piece is homophonic. See the SATB version with optional divisi for a simpler arrangement. Listen to the audio file to get an idea of the pace and sound of the piece.
