Set to a dreamy, original melody by Joanna Mills, Helen Hunt Jackson's poems "October" and "November" from "A Calendar of Sonnets" are adapted into a lovely song about the changing of the seasons from summer to fall. Perfect for fall or early winter concerts or Thanksgiving, and can also be sung as a vocal solo. The piece is set in an accessible key for young voices (C4 - C5), and the piano score supports the choir, enabling even beginner choirs to learn this unison melody easily. An optional counterpoint harmony in the final chorus is also provided. Approximate performance time 3:30. Guitar chords included. Joanna Mills was the Gospel Choir Director at Roncesvalles United Church in Toronto, Canada for 20 years, and has been writing and arranging choral music for 15 years. Her compositions and arrangements are performed regularly by her own choir and others around the world and have won awards in songwriting competitions. She also teaches musical theatre, voice and piano.
