Back to School 2015! And time to tune up those strings for the Opening Assembly!

I have written this arrangement of Stars and Stripes Forever for an intermediate string orchestra, with an advanced intermediate to advanced solo violin part (which plays the piccolo descant from the original).

Stars and Stripes Forever is John Philip Sousa's rousing patriotic march, written in 1896. An act of Congress in 1987 made this the official national march of the United States of America! Incidentally, the cover of this volume is a copy of the original publication of the march in 1897, and that is a picture of Sousa himself in his marching band regalia!
