This hymn is a favorite among both young and old members at my church. (Grandma puts herself on the young list!) Its happy, lyrical tune has everyone humming along, and the piece may be played at 120 bpm or a little slower. There are many tunes that incorporate the Sacred Harp text of "Come, thou Fount," but the Nettleton tune is the most popular. In this arrangement, the 3/4 timing has been changed to 4/4, which gives the melody an upbeat, syncopated feel.My rendition is four pages long and runs about 2:00 minutes. Key of Eb modulates to F on page three. The dynamics change on every page so be mindful of the dynamic markings. Intermediate level and perfect for church offertory, prelude or postlude.
