Product Description

Possibly the most famous dance from Glière's 1927 ballet The Red Poppy is the Sailors Dance, sometimes referred to as the Russian Sailors Dance (although it is described as Dance of the Sailors from the Soviet Ship in the score and libretto). This lively dance occurs at the end of Act One. It is this musical selection for which Glière is perhaps best known. This arrangement is for SATBBs Saxophone Quintet. Substitute parts are included for Baritone (2nd Tenor) and Bass (2nd Baritone). It would be an excellent finale for a concert program, or it could also be used as an encore. Duration is 1:58.
