The tune Nicaea is associated with the hymn text Holy, Holy, Holy! and is appropriate at any time during the year and especially on Trinity Sunday. In this arrangement the opening eight measure introduction allows the trumpets to embellish the sustained organ chords. At the ninth measure the organ states the hymn tune in long notes allowing the two trumpets to accompany with florid freely-composed parts. The organ part is written on two staves with an independent Pedal line, and is early intermediate in difficulty level. This makes it ideal as a postlude in any festive service of worship where this hymn is admired. It is also great duet repertoire for more advanced high school and college trumpet players. The full score downloads with two B flat parts attached. Enjoy browsing my many trumpet duet and organ arrangements available on SMP.
