"In South Australia, I was born Heave away, haul away South Australia round Cape Horn Were bound for South AustraliaHeave away, you rolling king Heave away, haul away Heave away, oh hear me sing Were bound for South Australia""Bound for South Australia" or "South Australia" is a sea shanty used by the wool traders who worked the clipper ships between Australian ports and London. This traditional tune is well known as a farewell song, sung at the docks as the big ships were leaving. The song has two distinct parts: The "Shanty" and "Halyard". This is a short arrangement for full orchestra. I also used this tune in my "Australian Folksong Medley No. 2" for concert band/Brass Band and Orchestra. If you use this arrangement, let me know how it goes.Parts inlcude Piano, Accordion and Guitar.Grade = 3 Duration = 2:35 mins The MP3 was recorded with NotePerformer 3. There is also a Concert Band version of the same arrangement at this site.
