This intimate "lullaby" was part of an orchestral suite by Alexander Ilyinsky (1859-1920). Among his best known works it is more familiar as a piano piece. I adapted that for string quartet or with the added bass for string orchestra or quintet. It's a very pleasant piece that we often use for prelude music at weddings but would also serve for a funeral setting for strings or even as a short concert piece.
