Waterway is an ever shifting time signature piece that flows along. Switching between 4/4 and 2/4 in a regular pattern, this is the perfect piece to introduce shifting time signature patterns to your group. With a solo Piccolo and solo Flute duo over four other parts below, you can give your stronger players some time to shine.Waterway is written from the viewpoint of flowing melodic lines that mimic the river as it flows downstream. There is a consistent tempo that should be kept up; don't let the piece drag itself down. The non-solo parts should keep themselves as light as possible, bouncing on and off notes as if they were water crashing against rocks.
