Hope Theres Someone was released in 2005 on a studio album by Antony and the Johnsons named "I am a bird now". In 2011, New Musical Express listed it among the best 150 songs of the last 15 years. By 2016 it had sold over 50,000 copies. My piano accompaniment follows the original very accurately and my daughter, Alice Rose Wild (Marple-Horvat) is the singer, improvising the lines in a few places. Feel free to depart from the written music. I have shortened the long piano section at the end by half, and I think it works very well as a live version for gigs. There are a lot of shifting of harmonies at the end too so I have written it in the simplest way possible with some helpful notes. It helps me in performance anyway! Here is a link to my recorded work for Sheet Music Plus including String Quartets, Songs and Instrumental Music with Piano Accompaniment. I hope to release some versions of this song for violin/cello and piano in the near future. https://www.youtube.com/user/skinnyblackdogs Link to Helen Marple-Horvat-Songwriter, Arranger and Composer.
