"Dance of the Hours" is a short ballet from the opera "La Gioconda," composed by Amilcare Ponchielli. It depicts the hours of the day through solo and ensemble dances, and the ballet was frequently performed on its own. It gained even wider popularity after being included as a comic ballet in Disneys 1940 film, "Fantasia," and in 1963 was parodied by Allan Sherman in his biggest hit, "Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah (A Letter from Camp)."
