A wonderful Irish air is sensitively arranged here. The accompaniment is sparse and delicate at first and as the piece broadens near the end it is full and flowing. Harmonies are sometimes bare, at times slightly dissonant, or rich and romantic in places. It is a superbly crafted version of this famous air and is slightly difficult at the climax section, but well within the reach of a competent student. It would be a very suitable choice for inclusion at a recital or concert.
