I Shall Not Be Moved is an African-American spiritual and protest song arising in the early 19th century. The lyrics (not included) describe being "like a tree planted by the waters" that shall not be moved because of faith in God. Various versions of the lyrics evolved as a Protestant hymn, and the spiritual gained popularity as a protest and union song of the civil rights movement in the U.S. Popular recordings include those by Peter, Paul and Mary, Ella Fitzgerald, and Johnny Cash. This arrangement is an Intermediate Piano solo. Other arrangements of African-American spirituals for piano by McIntire include Oh! Didn't It Rain, Joshua Fit de Battle of Jericho, and Hold On, all available at this website.
