Peter Gunn was written by Henry Mancini as the theme tune to the TV series of the same name in 1959. It was an instant hit and quickly gained a life of its own, winning Emmys and Grammys along the way. It has since been rerecorded by numerous artists as diverse as Jimi Hendrix and Aretha Franklin.
This version is a straightforward small band arrangement scored for Rhythm Section, Tenor Saxophone and Trumpet. It suits players at an easy to intermediate standard and is guaranteed to be popular with young and old. Once the rhythm section is playing the main riff convincingly the Sax and Trumpet will start to play with confidence. This version is equally ideal for school bands and professional bands looking to add a big dancefloor favourite to their repertoire.
The full score and all individual parts are combined in one PDF file. The overall performance time is around two and a half minutes.
