This set of music John Dowland wrote for lute came from a larger group of songs transcribed from the lute notation for keyboard by Peter Warlock. These were songs Dowland wrote for or dedicated to certain ladies: Mrs. White's Nothinge, The Shoemaker's Wife (A Toy), The Lady Rich Her Galliard, My Lady Hunsdon's Puffe, and Queen Elizabeth's Galliard. These are not too difficult to play. It is set by John Gibson for three recorders - 2 soprano and 1 tenor. Articulations and ornaments are provided, however they are optional to suit the performer's tastes.
