This song was written by Joe Zawinul of the band Weather Report as a tribute to the Birdland nightclub in New York City. This was the club where Zawinul heard Count Basie, and where Zawinul met his wife, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, and Miles Davis. It is presented here for brass ensemble, with drum kit as well. You will need a particularly funky tuba player!
