This arrangement presents a short extract from the first movement of Vivaldis Autumn from The Four Seasons, adapted for flexible string orchestra. Rather than the complete movement, the arrangement focuses on the most recognisable and energetic material, making it ideal for short performances, teaching concerts, and mixed-ability ensembles.
The scoring allows beginner and advanced players to perform together. Alongside the standard string parts, the arrangement includes simplified open-string and first-finger B parts, enabling players from complete beginners through to approximately Grade 8 to take part confidently. These parts are designed to be clear, playable, and supportive within the overall texture.
To increase flexibility for school and youth orchestras, a Violin 3 part is included that doubles the Viola line, allowing the piece to be performed even when viola players are unavailable. An optional piano part is also provided to support rehearsals or performance, reinforcing harmony and rhythm where needed.
