Grade 3-3.5 - Vocal Duet (Female) with Jazz Ensemble. An Irving Berlin classic featured in the legendary film White Christmas, this chart is an excellent addition whether adding to your festival or performance repertoire, or preparing a pops concert program! Can also be performed with a female vocal soloist, in which case the vocalist should perform the upper option of all split sections of the vocal part. CONDUCTOR'S NOTES: (1) Measures 7 thru 10 is played with a STRAIGHT, NON-SWING rhythmic feel before returning to SWING at 10. (2) Vocalist(s) should sing in a light swing, almost straight rhythmic style. (3) The saxes in measure 56 and all horns in 60 play tenuto eighth notes. These should follow the standard tenuto interpretation of being held for their full value, yielding a connected sound.
