Caravan is presented here as a drum set part for concert band. Featuring the work of composer Diane Downs, this edition also includes printed credits for original words and music by Duke Ellington, Irving Mills, and Juan Tizol, with the arrangement credited to Downs and Rick Mattingly.
Set in a 4/4 time signature, the piece opens with a "Latin Jazz" style marking. The notation uses a standard percussion clef, explicitly labeling kit components such as ride cymbal, small tom, large tom, bass drum, hi-hat with foot, crash cymbal, and snare drum. Dynamic markings begin at mezzo-piano, with clear accents and one-bar repeat symbols used throughout the chart to indicate rhythmic patterns.
Rehearsal numbers are clearly boxed at measures 7, 15, 23, and 31 to aid in ensemble coordination.
