"Healing" composed by Richard Smallwood, one of the greatest composers of sacred music is a solemn, moving work for many occasions, especially services in bereavement such as funerals and memorial services. Mr. Robinson put it in the key of G major, which he feels is low enough to be meditative where someone could sing it along as a solo along with the melody. The 1st violin part carries most of the melody. The melody is also carried by the cello about midway into this work. The piano and percussion parts are optional as a string quintet could also perform it.
