The piece turns the Ovidian or pseudo-Ovidian poem Somnium (Amores III 5) into a dramatic scene for mixed eight part choir.In the first part, the male voices, representing the male speaker of the poem, tell a dream to a dream interpreter, represented by the female voices, who, in the second part, explains its meaning. The rhythm and melody of the Latin text is designed on what we know about ancient meter, prosody and the probable speech melody of classical Latin.More information about the poem and the composition can be found in the preface.
