This is a saxophone quintet arrangement (soprano, 2 altos, tenor, and baritone) of a popular song composed by Burt Bacharach and lyricist Hal David. The version recorded by Perry Como in 1957 for RCA Victor reached #1 on Billboard's chart in the UK the following year. The lilting melody is carried for the most part by the tenor sax, with occasional sharing by the other saxes. The piece modulates from Eb major to F major midway through. Players of intermediate level skill will find this piece quite manageable. Cheerful feelings are evoked by the tuneful melody which complements the lyrics, describing sweethearts reminiscing about their shared memories of youths in love.
