"Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity" is the fourth movement of Gustav Holst's famous orchestral suite, "The Planets" (Op. 32). The Andante Maestoso section was titled "Thaxted" by Holst, famously introduced into the world by Ralph Vaughn Williams' hymnal "Songs of Praise" in 1926.This solo version with piano accompaniment is suited as a lyrical solo appropriate for beginning band students in their second or third year of playing.
