This is a lead sheet which has been derived from an audio recording by Bill Staines on his 1975 album, "Miles". The original music was created by Tom Russell & Patricia Hardin of Austin, Texas, which can be previewed on their 1996 recording, "The Early Years". The lyrics lament the aging of a loyal horse named "Zane Grey" whose retired to an easy life where he gives slow and easy rides to want-to-be cowboys and cowgirls visiting a dude ranch. The chord progression is easy, and is written in the Key of A to accomadate mid to high voices. The music could be lowered to the key of G to ease the difficulty by using more familiar chords.
