My Funny Valentine became a very popular jazz standard and has appeared on over 1300 albums and performed by over 600 artists.
In the original Broadway musical, Babes in Arms, this song was performed by a woman addressing a man actually called Valentine.
She is teasing him, pointing out his flawed physique and intelligence. Nevertheless she doesnt want him to change as he makes her happy.
