This piece is inspired by the moving work of Ahmed Muin, a music teacher from Gaza who transformed the constant hum of drones into a song honouring the martyrs of his community. Through this project, also running the music group the Gaza Birds Singing, he offers children a way to cope with fear and trauma. The piece has been arranged for three voices by Il Coro Ritrovato under the direction of Martina Sciucchino. By choosing to sing and share this song in solidarity with the Palestinian people, the choir hopes to carry forward its message of dignity and hope, as a small act of closeness and support.
