"Silent Night" is a popular Christmas carol, composed in 1818 by Franz Xaver Gruber in Austria. It is one of the most recorded Christmas songs, present in many films and performed by many artists. This arrangement for wind quintet has reimagined harmony. Loosely in the key of G-flat major, this version features quintal and non-functional harmony. It is best performed rubato, with the players free to play with the tempo and dynamics to create a truly memorable holiday concert selection. There is an version of this arrangement 1/2 step lower (F major) that has less accidentals to worry about; please search my works to find it.Click HERE or go to linktr.ee/ensemblellama to view more of my works.
