This is a great old tune first published in 1909 and featured in the short lived Broadway show 'Miss Innocence' but is perhaps best known from the film of the same name featuring Doris Day in 1953. Other notable renditions include Julie Andrews, Bing Crosby, Ray Charles and my favourite Fats Waller. . An interesting anecdote is that apparently one of the Apollo astronauts used to sing this song whilst orbiting the actual moon which if true adds a whole new meaning to it. I take this arrangement through the three major keys of C, Db and D. It is in my hallmark stride piano style. If any of the tenths are too large a stretch they can be rolled or replaced with a single bass note or octaves. Please note this is a piano solo without any other instrumentation featured in my YouTube video. I wrote it as a piano solo and it sounds full and complete as such. I don't include fingering or pedalling or dynamics in my notation as I prefer to leave this to the discretion of the individual pianist as no two piano teachers ever agree on such things. I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I enjoyed writing the arrangement.
