Product Description

Suo Gân is a traditional Welsh lullaby composed anonymously in the early 19th century. It has featured on numerous vocal and choral recordings, and was notably used in Stephen Spielberg's 1987 film Empire of the Sun. The piece is often performed as a Christmas carol, and could bring something a little different to your festive programmes.

This arrangement includes three verses and features a gentle quartet (flugelhorn, horn, baritone and euphonium) during the first, while the final verse is colourfully scored for the full band (with an optional obligato for the soprano cornet). A short peaceful coda concludes the piece quietly, reminding us this is a lullaby!

Accessible to bands of all levels, this piece is a great addition to any band's repertoire, working perfectly for all manner of occasions.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
