Multiple Dances (Version 1) is in three brief movements, with the melody lines designed to be played by any higher treble instruments within a prescribed range. The music is rather neoclassical in style with references to earlier twentieth century works by Stravinsky, Poulenc, Faure, and a passing nod to the traditional Russian Song of the Volga Boatmen - three light-hearted little doodles. This version is dedicated to Trittico. The work received its first performance on 22 October 2013 at Lauderdale House, Highgate, London by Trittico (Nancy Ruffer-flute, John Anderson-oboe, Sophia Rahman-piano).
