Arranged for performance by a massed band with choir for a Festival of Remembrance Concert, this is work should hit the mark with bands, choirs and audiences alike.Roger Quilter was born in Brighton, East Sussex on November 1st, 1877. He attended Eton College, then studied composition in Frankfurt alongside several other soon-to-be well known composers, including Australian Percy Aldridge Grainger. Quilter is best known for his light music works, including his songs and small works for band, which have gone on to influence those who came after. He died on September 1st, 1953, just a few weeks after his 75th Birthday. This work has been re-scored for SATB Choir and Concert (Wind/Military) Band. There are some additional parts for brass band/European players including Horns in Eb, Trombones & Euphonium in Bb Treble Clef and Eb & Bb Basses in Treble Clef. There are additionally two Bb Baritone (saxhorn) parts for brass band players - these are NOT needed to complete the arrangement but serve to thicken the scoring if required. This work is suitable for performance by concert band alone by covering all cued vocal parts. Please note - choral parts in the score of this arrangement do NOT include lyrics. This is due to the work of Rudyard Kipling being still in copyright in the UK under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act, 1988 and is not an error.
